Freshly baked whole wheat bread, with Omega Maiden camelina oil for added omega-3’s and antioxidants. This is a family favorite; the smell of this bread in the oven is often emanating from our farm kitchen.
1 cup warm water
1 Tbsp Omega Maiden camelina oil
1 Tbsp lard or oil of your choice
3 Tbsp honey
1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
1 ½ cups white flour
1 ½ tsp sea salt
2 tsp yeast
handful of nuts/seeds (optional)
What to do:
Combine all ingredients and knead well. Let rise in a warm place for 45-60 minutes, punch down and knead an additional minute. Put in a greased loaf pan and let rise another 35-50 minutes. Bake for 22 minutes at 350° F. Be sure to invite the grandkids over for a still-warm slice of bread fresh from grandma’s oven!
